Recently I bought the game, downloaded the offline installer (without GOG Galaxy) and ran it offline. The game was installed normally, without any error message. On execution only the JoyMasher animation appears and the game auto closes. If I connect the controller, a green phrase appears on the screen but without any change. No error messages are shown. In another moment I connected the computer to the internet and started the game and this time there was a change, the game started normally as expected. But something caught my attention, the game automatically synced with my GOG account without authorization and without starting Galaxy.

I understand that this is somehow a type of DRM, because my access to the game was blocked before having any online account synchronization. The game requires internet connection, even for the first run. My only practical inconvenience was to be blocked when I was not connected to the internet, but I believe that what happened to me is a form of violation of DRM-Free policy from GOG. I don't believe this is the case of a error in the code, I believe that this is a conscious decision. I can't tell if the developers want it to not be DRM-Free or if they inadvertently chose this way to encourage players to participate in the rankings, but it seems to me that this choice should be different for a game here at GOG.

My hardware:
Acer Aspire F5-573G
Windows 10 Home Single Language 64bit v.1803
Intel i7-7500U processor 2.70GHz 2.90GHz CPU
RAM: 8GB

Setup: Blazing Chrome 0.0.7.A

I believe game tries to connect to the online ranking boards only. And yes, it's really disappointing that players do not get a choce on this matter even here.
Concerning the your problem, it's, probably, arised because you still had Galaxy installed. I never had this piece of software on my computer and Blazing Chrome started normaly all the time. The only annoying thing is GOG INIT FAILED message.
Developers just provoke someone to get a debugger and rip this foul code out of the game, damn!
