planet strike is a expansion the same way doom 2 was an expansion to doom. it is an extended version of the previous engine. it included some pretty big game play enhancements compared to aog even including some of the spear code witch allowed for one long episode.
read the cat pages at apogee to see the gameplay enhancements. heck planet strike was apogees first retail game.

Jeffpiatt: hopefully 3dr lets the other two duke titles on here

They are already available at their own webstore for 5.99 each. Packed with DOSBox.
Yeah, but who buys from that shitty site where you can't redownload your games indefinitely, there's no real support, there's no real community, and the prices are hilarious?

they do have a forum the prices are in line with this site. they could not find an provider for a service like this one
I would have to agree with the first post about it really should be inclusive. Yes i like G.O.G. and want to support them, but the pull of being DRM free can only go so far when there are more modern games out there that are more enjoyeable without DRM anyways.
I meen return to castle wolfenstien for $9.99 would be desireable considering the current offerings from local $10 bins (Far Cry, Thief 2 and even Unreal Tournament 3 though it has DRM so perhaps shouldn't count). but a shareware game that on release probably only sold for $15 and hasn't even been updated to high def with the use of a modern engine after 15 years can't be justified in the retention of that consumer cost.
I am not saying that it was not an iconic or good old game, but at the end of the day consumers are going to make a decision based on value for money.
Yes No-DRM factors into that cost verse value decision, but it isn't the major driving force it's a consumer checkbox for their gaming requirements.
While DRM can prohibit the sale of an item, in and of itself it's absence does not impart value.
Yea, I'd like Planet Strike to be included in the deal. Because I still haven't tried it, and I'd like to. However, paying $6 seems too much considering I've never tried it to know if it's worth it or not.
I can't believe how much people whine. I consider myself a pretty cheap guy, I am usually what is referred to as "price sensitive" in retail lingo. Meaning I buy it where it is the cheapest, even if the service is lacking or I have to wait for an item to be shipped.

That being said these games are nearly all $10 or less, DRM free, updated to work on Vista/Win7 (which many have never been before), have all kinds of extras like music, manuals, art, etc. AND you can re-download at any time on any computer and STILL people are pissing and moaning?

If you think $10 is too expensive for a game that will not run on a modern system otherwise then go buy it somewhere else and setup DOSBox yourself. This is an awesome site, I love what they are doing and I am proud to support GoG.

To be honest, as much as I'd love both games to be 5.99 for both, I'd accept 9.99 for both as the beginning of a compromise. The fact that the only free content you get is the manuals sucks a bit, but I think that's because I've been spoilt by the goodies with other games. I can't quite justify $6 for each game, though I could justify $10 for both (or 4.99 each!). Admittedly though, thinking about it, 3D Realms does need as much money as it can get, given the troubles it has had over the past year or so.

Still, I'm a bit torn about buying the games when I can get better deal from some of the other games... it's a tough call though. Of course, $10 for 2 games only reduces the price by $2, which isn't a huge discount, but it may be enough to shift a few more copies.

if you liked the first game you will like planet strike the difference is the fact that planet strike is more finished than AOG was when it came out.
Have any of you ever thought about it might being the decision of the publisher, not GOG to sell them seperately? I bought em both, and I didnt mind at the time, because I had money and you get more for your € if you buy $ games..
