Hi there,

the game crashes after launching up. I understand that the M1 chip isn't compatible to most games. Gog says that it is Mac compatible like Crusader: No Regret / No Remorse which did run fine.

From the store page:

BS: Planet Strike - No Mac support listed
BS: Aliens of Gold - Mac OS X (10.6.8) and NOT the latest (Big Sur 11.5) that comes on M1 Macs. So no, technically not showing as compatible.
You may have to wait for a fully M1 compatible version of DosBox.
Or find an "old PC" emulator that emulates the complete old PC that has a version for OSX. Though, there are none I can immediately think of. Most are Windows or Linux only.
Or use Parallels / VMware and make a virtual windows (or DOS) machine.

Thanks a lot! I guess time will tell. I don't really get why some DOS games work and some not...

https://dosbox-staging.github.io/v0-77-1/ has a Mac version and is much better than the Dosbox that is provided by GOG.

Try running Blake Stone in Dosbox Staging and you should have a much better time.

Too bad I have no clue how to do that :/

If you need help with Dosbox Staging, go to their Discord channel, https://discord.gg/WwAg3Xf, and ask there. They're very friendly.
It works with DOS Box staging! There are at the moment no working DOS Box frontends for Mac so I had to mount it the old way - but it works like a charm. Thanks!

However: I can only play the shareware version since unpacking the Mac DMGs brings no DOS Box compatible files. When I download the Windows executable, the Unarchiver fails to unpack it :/

I guess I could play a lot of more games this way but I'm unable to access the game files that I bought :(

I think innoextract can be used to extract stuff from the windows GoG installers.

https://github.com/dscharrer/InnoExtract

But since there is no Mac version, I found this:
https://constexpr.org/innoextract/

Which points to a way to compile or get a pre-compiled version on Macs.
