Swedrami: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/revisit_rainy_los_angeles_with_the_return_of_the_classic_blade_runner_be9f8/post208 If you still want to hold your breath, go ahead... but this pretty much rules out Blade Runner (ever) being released on any other competing digital distribution platform, including Steam.
Because, again - why should GoG let any other direct competitor reap the rewards of their work?
AltMagOnline: To play devil's advocate, that could mean anything though - they might have secured the rights to sell the game with 12 months exclusivity, for example. As mentioned above, they've certainly had games exclusively in the past (Curse of Money Island) that later came to Steam.
Sure, but given the - I imagine - absolute bitch of legal shit limbo GoG had to navigate and wade through for god-knows-how-many-years to finally secure the distribution rights (together with Alcon Interactive Group) it would be downright stupid to just make it available on another direct competitor's platform as well.
If I were GoG I would make damn sure that it stays exclusive "forever" or at least for as long as it takes for the expenses spent on untangling the rights to be paid off in full, with interest and then some.
Yigdboz: If you were gifted a DRM-free GOG copy of Blade Runner you wouldn't even accept that because "muh Steam"?
Reikhardt4: My friends wouldn't gift me a Gog copy.
Keep an eye or two on
https://www.gog.com/forum/general, there's hardly any time where there isn't a give-away or a raffle held/organized by generous individuals/members of the community.
If you ask nice someone may even gift you a copy of Blade Runner right away and no questions asked.
