I still can't believe this game is on GOG.
Does anyone have any background on the revamped promo image GOG is using?

I've attached a comparison, with the new graphic on the left and the original on the right.

The coat, shirt and tie placement are identical, but the head is completely different.

My initial impression after seeing this was that the graphics have been upgraded. However, given the sorted history of this game and it's original assets lost to negligence, I doubt thats the case.

Still, I'm curious as to the reason for this change (licensing issue maybe?), and who is responsible for the upgrade.

No idea why they changed it, but I think the left one is Willem Dafoe.

And I can't believe Rick Deckard is here in the forum!

On topic, it's very possible that a GOG artist made the alteration in-house for use in store/library "cover" art, but it could have been the current publisher's doing, too.
