Never played before, is it that kind of game?

It is a point and click adventure. So point your mouse cursor at objects, characters and menu items, and click.

You could use a software that maps mouse movement and buttons to a gamepad, of course.

Gamepad wouldn't work well here.

The game has few moments where it requires you to have very good point'n'click speed reaction. It will take ages with stick to precisely point in the given time sequence.
