I have the original game on cd rom. Would I be able to take the tracks from the discs and put them in the GOG install and they work as intended?

The GOG version already uses the music from the original game.

The tracks on Frank Klepacki's site are of better quality (I think) but those cannot be used to replace the in-game tracks as of yet. Iirc the last time I checked, some of the in-game tracks are missing, while there are some that are bonus tracks that don't appear in the game (nor the game files).
