So I just got out of the sewers and you're supposed to be able to stop Izo the arms dealer pawn guy but he just runs up and kills the character with his sword. I have no way to click on him or shoot him, He just runs up, slice, load game. I don't know what to do.

Edit: Nevermind.. found him trolling around the gun shop and shot him and the girl arrested him. OK then.

Yep, I had a similar encounter, though I've not been to the sewers yet. Once I'd spoken to him and he ran off, if I then tried to get back in my spinner he would just run up to me and kill me with a sword. After a few attempts I then realised that it was impossible to try to shoot him (you cannot actually do anything at that point), so I walked a different path around the area and he shows up elsewhere and got arrested by the woman Blade Runner. I've also read that sometimes she kills him rather than arrests him. But anyway, yes, it seems that him killing you there is intentional.

Glad you figured this out. When this game came first came out in 1997, 10 year old me had alot of problems with this part, and like you I just sort of stumbled into the solution.

Indeed. If Steele kills Izo, he's a Rep. If she arrests him, he's human. No way to determine what she'll do beforehand.

Steele's decision is the most obvious clue about Izo's nature, but there are other clues for the player to decide if Izo is a Replicant or not. Most of them come from talking to others about him and also from talking with Izo himself.

If all goes well, we'll be able to restore a story path where McCoy (the player) can also decide the fate of Izo, before Steele takes action, and you pretty much would have to then decide based on your clues (or luck if McCoy has not found enough evidence). But that is yet to come :)
