Anyone else get a glitch when getting to the rune in the Mines of Kelbegen? When I climb up to the top of the pillar (with the green lava) within sight of the rune the controls stop responding, though the game is still running (character animation and environment still 'on'). Its as though a cut scene should kick in but it doesn't.

Tried changing various settings within the setup etc but nothing seems to help. Also worth noting that the rune and cut scene in Tel Helaf played fine. Anyone experienced this and more importantly does anyone have a solution/work around?

Sorry to hear that, I dont really have a solution other then that you can wait to pick it up.
You will get a second chance to pick it up later. While you wait for a solution.
I experienced the same glitch and found a solution:

In my case, the game's frame rate was too high, which is why the cutscene did not kick in. I solved it by forcing on vsync in my nvidia control panel for this game. (I think ATI and other brands have this option as well in their control panel.)

Apart from fixing this cutscene glitch, it also improved the mouse input in the game.

Strange, I know this bug and I even fixed in game files. Worked for me on all testing machines.
I'm glad you found another solution.
In case you can't find vsync options (or it don't work or you're just lazy :P) I used Alt-Tab, WinKey or Ctrl-Alt-Del to minimize for a sec, after maximizing cut-scene was fine.

Thank you, this worked for me too. Was driving me nuts :)
Just Alt + Tab bed to look for a solution while the game was stuck at that scene, returned back to the game to quit but to my surprise the cutscene started just fine.

So if you don't want to force VSync here is an alternative solution, just alt tab when the game gets stuck and return to the game and it will play cutscenes just fine.
