I always use the Barbarian because it's simple enough to stab and move but I switched to a Knight for a while for the groovy looking shields but am I missing something with their use? Is their a button in the tutorial I overlooked? He has a nice pretty shield but he never does anything with it! Help...anyone? :D

Yes, there is a seperate button for blocking, actually :D.

Try the left Ctrl button and see if that helps :D.

edit: keep in mind that the Barbarian can block as well but due to the fact that he doesn't use shields, his block relies more on your reflexes and the ability to time the block just as your opponent is about to strike you.

The other classes should have the ability to block with a shield raised until they are fatigued. I have no idea as to how the Amazon blocks as I have yet to play as her :D.

Thank you Judas. I was beginning to think it was more about just dodging than anything else. You da man. :D
Yup, as Judas said you can block with Ctrl. It breaks opponents balance for a while and give you time make a combo or few free hits. IMO blocking is to tricky (timing/reflex dependant) and I always preferred dodge-hit-dogde-hit approach.

I'm quickly learning that even with a good shield blocking is less than dependable. :D It's bad enough when the shield gives way but I keep getting it knocked out of my hands. I'm not complaining, I actually think that is really cool and adds much more to the fighting. Great game.
