I bought the whole series, the first 3 installments worked fine, but everytime i start "deception" a message pops up stating:

An error occurred while starting the X11 server: "Failed to activate core devices."

Click Quit to quit X11. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple.

What shall I do?

Have you downloaded the latest version of the game? It was patched this month to update the Wine engine.
