This is more of a PSA than anything else, since this game is 12 years old and I don't know if the bug will ever actually be fixed. There are some small spoilers below.
When you arrive at the hospital at night in order to go into Susan's room after visiting hours, you need to get the Fuse Box key. Whenever Joey gets near the radio, it cuts out and the guard gets distracted while fiddling with it, which lets you grab the key.
The problem is that there's no real indication that you're getting it. Rose says "Fuse box key? I could use that." but you don't see any animation of her actually taking it or that you got it. So, naturally, you'll click it again. Rose says something like "I don't need any of the other keys here." So you go to look in your inventory, thinking you must have picked it up... but it's not there.
What happens is, the key gets deleted from your inventory if you click the key rack a second time (which is highly likely). So you'll get confused, wondering what you did wrong or why the obvious solution doesn't seem to be producing the correct result. It's because of this bug, and it drove me nuts until I finally figured out what was happening.
If Rose actually reached out and grabbed the key, or if the key rack had one of its keys disappear when you grab it, or some other way to tell what's happening, this wouldn't be as big of a deal.
