Hello,

does anyone know if there is a german manual available for download? Not sure why GoG doesn't provide manuals in every language they offer on the game card, or maybe its the publisher who is to "blame".

Anyway if anyone could point me to a site where I can a pdf version of the german manual, I would really appreciate it.

thanks,
D

I wonder too. I don't know what happened because I think to remember on release a GOG-official said he was scanning the German manual, but ... maybe it got to big, the Google translator crashed or something worse happened.

I found the ingame help that you can reach over the Question Mark [?] in the upper menu basically covers the game mechanics much better and more detailed than the manual. The only thing interesting in the manual would have been the character background description/stories "printed" in German as well, but in my opinion it is not so much text that you could not grasp them in English.

I searched for the german manual via google but no luck. It seems Daedalic never bothered to make the pdf available to download. Not even Steam has german manual, which is unusual. There is even a reply on the Steam game forum from an official developer saying that he has to suggest this to his company. Quite sad.

Nevertheless I have a bit of experience with the mechanics from playing Drakensang so the manual isn't that important. It's, like you said nice to have some background info about the game and the characters. But the english manual is doing a good job and the manual has hardly any info anyway.

Oh and the official Blackguard website has a nice guid available, which covers a lot of the mechanics and has tips to the 3 classes.

You could of course contact GOG Support or drop JudasIscariot, the official GOG-updater, a personal message. I am sure he can answer the question for a German manual in no time.

I guessed I would summon you. ;-) While you are here, could you probably shed some light on the topic of this thread please?

I can't right now as I am at home and not in the office. Also, someone mentioned that we should put out the German/non-English versions of manuals, well, we do when we have access to them :) See 7th Legion or Redline for example :) Or Deadlock :D
I just checked the release thread of the game because I was sure we had some conversation about the manual and indeed:
>implying I haven't already finished the scan and was putting the finishing touches on the manual to make it look like it wasn't scanned
... is what you answered in a post. So what happened to the scans?

Anyway have a nice evening, I have to watch football now. :-)

Which game's release thread was that? I remember the statement, just not the game...

Enjoy your football :)
Those damn Spanish want to ruin my evening! I hope for a more successful 2nd half-time for Bayern.

It was the release thread of Blackguards of course. See here:

Ah that. I was actually talking about a different manual for one of our classic releases, Redline I believe, but I couldn't communicate that due to the fact that the game wasn't released yet. Sorry about unintentionally misleading you :/
The german manual is contained as a pdf file in the free demo (at least in the steam demo). I would attach this pdf but I am not sure if I allowed to do so even when the demo is free available for everybody . I will ask daedalic directly.

Well I can only respond to this surprise with a proper german expression: "Hach, das ich das noch erleben darf."

Have fun translating it. And no worries it's a positive response. ;)

According to google translate, it comes out to be something like "I didn't think I'd live to see the day!", if we go by context and not just a direct machine translation :D
