I managed to do the obviously stupid thing;
Save my game before opening the door from the mine to the wolf, but AFTER I'd spent both my bullets. *facepalm*

Is there any brighter souls than me out there who's got a save just before that, in the mines somewhere?

I've trawled the internet already, and every site that promises savegames are either not loading/timed out or out of date.. :/
