I am not sure to what cut content do you refer? Please elaborate, I am thinking of preordering myself and would like to know your opinion.

Probably just a mistake. Steam and GOG have the same preorder deal: the game, DLC and the soundtrack for 60€.

Soundtrack and DLC are cut content.

Ok I see. I can agree with you on the "DLC" point. With this few information at the time, the DLC smells for me like an Paradox interactive practice, selling you everything in an DLC package.

The soundtrack however is for me a diffrent story. You buy a game and you really like the music? Great but the music is extra. And if you don't want to buy it, go to youtube, I am sure the soundtrack will be there rather sooner than later.

It doesn't feel like "cut content" since the music is in the game. Let me explain it on an example. I don't know if you ever heard of or played Hollow Knight . The game is reasonable priced at €12.59 (some would argue it is a steal for the amount of content you get there). The game is available in the base version https://www.gog.com/game/hollow_knight where you "only" get the game (and all DLCs were added for free thank you Team Cherry) and a Hollow Knight + Soundtrack version https://www.gog.com/game/hollow_knight_soundtracks for €23.19.

So you pay almost €10 extra for the soundtracks, but believe me if you ever played the game you would never feel like content was cut if you "only" got the base version.

So for the sake of your argument I wouldn't inculde gamesoundtracks, since they are indeed an extra goodie imo.

Soundtrack is not extra content. You already have files on your PC. Soundtrack is being played while you play the game. When you decide you want to play soundtrack outside the game you forced to pay more money. Pure scam that is being approved by GOG.

I guess you could see it that way. How do you think about film music? Is it a scam that film music isn't provided with the movie... I mean you already got the movie file and the soundtrack is playing in the movie. So after your definition this must be a scam too?

I see it that way. I can enjoy the product (film or game) which I paid for. If I want to get something outside this produktpackage I paid for (the movie or game) I have to pay extra, like game or movie soundtracks. DLC content (which clearly should be included in the base game like this DLC they offer in the specific case here with Biomutant) is a diffrent story. I paid for a product (game) and can not get all the gameplay elements (because it is locked behind the "DLC"). For me this is something entirely diffrent compared to the soundtrack.
I can see where the OP is coming from but I disagree that buying the soundtracks are a scam as it provides a way for the author/ess to get revenue that they wouldnt get from the game sales.
Exactly the same with music or artwork from films and TV, instead of short samples of music or watermarked artwork you get the full package by paying for it, if you really want that kind of stuff in the first place.
As for Hollow Knight (the DLC's were later added for free when PAYG was nil profitable) the soundtrack is IMO overpriced, 26 tracks at just over an hour is less value than you'd get with a highstreet music CD, but my point stands, its extra revenue for them but without some copyright restrictions for us.
I don't really care about the OST, but they won't get my money by cutting content from the game so that they can sell it as a DLC or offering it for pre orders.
The only thing they'll achieve like this is make me hate their company and never wanting to give them any money.

I kinda feel the same about that DLC content. But I will wait to make my final decision when I know more about what the cut DLC content really contains.
Yeah no, there is no cut content whatsoever.

Umm... According to the latest information, there is NOTHING cut out of the game. Yes you get an Mercenary class in the DLC if you pre-order, but you can also earn that same class when you do a full play-through of the game. That class will be unlocked when you do a Newgame+ (or endgame - I am not sure about that). Of course you can decide to buy the pre-order, to get that class unlocked on your first play-through, but I think that class is powerful and actually really meant for a Newgame+ game-play.

About the music files. Well - Some developers give their music for free and most don't. I an overwhelming majority of games, the music content is not even available separately in any form. In any case, it's not cut-out content, because it's in the game. You can fully enjoy the game without the need of any additional music files.

At the end you get 100% of the game with an OPTION to buy a cheat you get later on anyway (Mercenary class) or some additional music files. And both things are not needed to run the game, because the first you get anyway, and the second is already in the game and separate music files are only an extra.

That's just my take on it...

Finally someone gets it :D thanks for agreeing with my points made earlier.

Agreed although is the MErc DLC really considered a cheat when they give it away for no extra cost in the pre-order? :D
Anyways I heard you can BUY the merc DLC after the preorder period, not that i t gets added for Game+ or soemthing.

Agreed. And not only are soundtracks often separate, sometimes they can be bought even if you don't own the game. Which means it is a separate product. Of course all the music is in the game, but the separate soundtrack is ... well, separate.

And the Mercenary DLC will be available for purchase, if you really, really want the abilities from the beginning. Everything in the DLC can be achieved just by playing the game. This just gives you that in the beginning. And as far as I have understood the customisation of your character, the starting stats are mainly important in the beginning and after a while you can branch out to any direction you want. So it's just a little early game aid anyway.
