Hi all,

I finished episode 1 yesterday on easy. I had to play with the joystick of the controller but it worked out not too bad.
But now I just started Episode 2 and the fact that you use the joystick is getting a pain in the asserino.

I wonder if there is any way around this so I can use the cross like controls (I am sorry my native language is Dutch and I do not know the proper English name for it. It are the controls like a nes or snes controller has so no joysticks.

I hope someone can offer help otherwise I am afraid I will not be playing the other episodes. The game is free so its not that bad but I actually liked the first episode and I would like to play the other two too...

Do you mean the D-Pad, instead of the analog stick? This is due to how Windows interprets all the buttons/axis and shows DOSBox the controller. My controller, the D-Pad shows up as buttons, not directional, so will not work as you mention. The best way to fix this is to use the DOSBox built in Keymapper. Control-F1. Click on one of the joystick directions near bottom of the mapper screen, hit add, hit the d-pad for that direction. Repeat for other directions. Save. It 'should' load that automatically next time you start that game. But, depends how GoG has everything working. Because each GoG game that was DOS based uses its own copy of DOSBox, you would have to repeat this with any other game you want to use the D-Pad on.

Here is the Wiki for DOSBox mapper. Note: there is stuff about auto vs fcs and hats near bottom. I never had to do this. The above worked for me (same deal as you, wanted dpad for Apogee platformers like Commander Keen and this one etc).
