When I analyse after each defrag, it is still there and no amount of defragging can shift it. Is this a normal thing or should I be worried about it?

Perhaps try different defragger. I'm using Auslogics Disk Defrag.

I don't understand why are you trying to shift sally_clean.bf with a defrag program? It's the data file for beyond good and evil you can find it in the beyond good and evil folder. If its already where it needs to be on the hard drive a defrag program won't move it, if its fragmented well that can happen and when you eventually delete the game it will remove all the file anyway.

I wouldn't trust that defrag, if I was you. It scrambled PSD and 7z files on my computer. I can recommend JK Defrag instead.

You don't need to worry about it, its not harmful in anyway to just leave it. Whenever you delete Beyond Good and Evil it will be removed as well.

(Sorry. I love typos. But I hate defragging too. The Windows defragger always seems to just give up, mostly on the very files are most fragmented. Bollucks.)

That's why I am using a 3rd party defragging program.

Er.. defraggler isn't a typo :p. Its a free Defragger program from SysInternals (I believe thats who developed it). More robust than Windows Defrag, and works better too.

I still can't help but think of it as a program for eradicating Muppets, though.

You could try to copy it to another disc, delete the old file and copy it back. Might work, kind of a manual defrag. You sure the disc isn't full? At least 20% free at all times is recommended.
