It's hard to tell for sure, as there's no indication in the game and I can't find any files that would indicate so. But the installer creates a key in the registry under "HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Ubisoft\Beyond Good & Evil\1.01.000".
Also, according to this page the 1.01 patch adds antialiasing support and some other things which appear to be present in the game.
