Hi everyone, I had some trouble installing this game (Win7 64): the installer would freeze at completion, preventing the game from ever installing. I contacted support and they were able to provide a solution:
Install the game with disabled sound devices. To disable them go to Start menu > Control Panel > Sound, and right-click every sound device and choose disable. Restart your computer and try to install again. If this does not help, try to install in clean boot mode: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
At first, disabling the sound devices didn't seem to work -- the installation still froze at completion, and I had to kill it in windows task manager. But the game now runs (after adding the missing EAX file as described elsewhere). I know other people have experienced this issue, so I hope this helps.
By the way, if you have a sound card from Creative, the free Creative ALchemy software allows you to restore EAX effects to Beyond Good and Evil.
