Hints say to insert circuit board into this to activate Joey. I cannot find any shell 'below the elevator'. Help!

I had a hard time finding this too. It's right there though, right where you are looking. I think it was to the right of the coffee machine, not sure if it was to the right or left of the junk. Just keep moving your mouse around that area and you should find it.

EDIT: Just fired up the game to check, there are three piles of junk (including the coffee machine) the chassis is the middle pile of "Junk", to the right (your right, not the character's right) of the coffee machine. It's the small piece of junk, looks a little like a smile to me.

Have you found it? Yes it's there just below the elevator..
On the junk pile, you will see some empty spaces.. the right junk robot is the one..
