Am playing my first game of this, which is also my first game of any rgp game. The manual gives hints for new players, such as how to activate Joey ect. What if I can't find Joey or don't want to? How limited am I. If, instead of luring the technician out of the room in order to get the spanner, I beat him to death with the piece of iron I's carrying? What I am asking, I think, is how much is the player being directed by the game and how much free choice does he really have? I realize that this is a very old rpg game and not representative of the current generation.

Thanks
It isn't an RPG but an adventure game.

You can't get stuck in the game (thought you could die) but on the other hand you need to follow the script for the game, in the example that you could only lure him out of the room in order to advance.
a P&C (Point & Click) Adventure game to be more precise..

And Ingsoc85 is absolutely right.. we have very limited freedom in the game story.. but I believe we have very limited freedom in any games story at the time.. So we have to follow the script that built by the game developer..

Thanks all. I shouldn't expect too much from such an ancient game.

It has nothing to do with the age of the game but with the opposite concepts of adventure games und rpgs.
