i cant for love nor money get the putty into where the light was. am i doing something wrong or something??????

DId you pickup the light from the light socket or just turn it off?

turned switch off then removed the light

What about talking to joey in front of it? I think you might also need to get that guy out of the room.

It's been a few years but I think you need to:
- get rid of the old man
- look at the elevator controls
- talk to Joey about it
- turn off the switch
- remove the light bulb
- insert putty
- turn on switch
If that doesn't work, I fear you may have a bug.
