I'm so excited to be finally playing this game. I remember drooling over screenshots in CVG back in ancient history, and being so jealous that I didn't have a home computer which could run it.

The only problem I have is that my laptop is forcing the game to stretch to fill the display in fullscreen mode. I'd rather it simply letterbox the left/right side of the screen to maintain the correct aspect.

I've never had to solve this problem before, so I'm not sure if it's:

1. A software issue, one which can be solved with command line switches or something
2. A driver solution (I couldn't find anything)
3. A hardware solution (I couldn't find any switches on my laptop)
4. Just not possible.

Can anyone help?

If on the off chance your running a nvidia or ati card in your laptop you can go to their respective control panels and set it to scale and maintain aspect ratios, which will work for other games as well.

For this though as it runs through scummvm if you go to the scummvm options it should have scaler options for fixed aspect ratio anyway.

We need more info. What's your laptop's model ? That graphics card are you using ?
Do you have any buttons to adjust your monitor settings on the hardware level ?

If you're using the default settings, the drivers SHOULDN'T force a stretch, so I would guess it's the monitor. Now - it would be best if you could just change the monitor's settings. Failing that - you can use your graphics card's control panel to do the same. If that's not possible as well, as a last ditch effort you can edit dosbox settings and change them to "aspect=true", although that will only fix the problem locally and will put heavier burden on your CPU.
This game is run through ScummVM, not DOSBox.

You need to launch ScummVM separately, point it at the main BASS directory, and set up the settings yourself (including maintaining aspect ratio) through the GUI.
