ScummVM works fine in Linux and it can be used for playing Beneath a Steel Sky.

Set WINEPREFIX to a new directory and use Wine to execute the GOG installer.
Once done, copy this files from the installation directory:
SKY.CFG sky.cpt sky.dnr sky.dsk

copy them in a new directory somewhere. Delete WINEPREFIX and point your ScummVM where you copied the files. Have fun.

Nice one, got ubuntu on my laptop, this information might come in handy, thanks.
Happy to see someone who appreciate.
To save the hassle of using Wine, the game files can be downloaded directly from the SCUMMVM website : here. There are other games there as well.

There is no excuse for not adding the game to the game shelf though, to get all the nice and shiny GOG's extras !
If you use Ubuntu, the game is already in universe repositories, you don't need the GOG version.
