Hi, first post, played the game as a child an loved it. I'm hoping you fellow BASS enthusiasts could help me with two things
Q1-
Does anyone have any knowledge of there ever being any attempt to write a film script based on BASS? Has anything ever got off the ground or been thrown around and suggested?
From what I can tell from searching around on the net nothing has ever been done or even suggested, which I find a tad strange when there's such a rich interesting storyline to be adapted.
Q2 -
I do film journalism, but I also dabble in writing scripts. If someone was to convert BASS into a film, what would you want to see? Obviously, how it would look is rather simple and pre-determined. In my mind, the gap would take on a sorta mad max/Judge Dredd (film) kinda style while the cities would have a very Blade Runner/Minority Report (slum buildings and mall scenes)/ with maybe a hint of Gattaca about it.
What I mean when I say what would you want to see, I mean in terms of story?
In the game you wonder around gently solving puzzles, entering and re-entering Linc space so freely, which is great for an adventure game, but for a film this simply couldn't work. Anyway, you people watch films, you guys probably know this game like the back of your hand, so It would be great to hear from you as to what you would want to see if this was made into a film?
What parts of the game do you think would work well? what parts do you think couldn't work? what would you change or bend to fit into a film story? what would you take away to make the film flow better? How would you keep it interesting throughout?
Thanks for your time, Have a Merry Christmas and I simply can't wait to see what you guys say.
Many thanks
James Wright
