These load times are unacceptable! Upwards of 5 frelling minutes just to load up a mission?! Are you frelling with me mate? If i wanted top have the load times of mechwarrior online id frelling play mechwarrior online dammit!
I agree load times are quite long, but in my case nowhere near 5 minutes.
I just checked by starting a mission now... 48 seconds from the moment I click "deploy" to the moment I can give orders to the lance.
Obviously depends on the hardware but mine is not particularly recent (I built the PC some years ago).

My impression is the load time is anyway excessive considering the data which is being loaded (textures, geometry and a level of a very modest size).
To me looks like the loading is the less optimized or the less well engineered part of the entire game.
If the reason is the latter, I think it's improbable they are going to make substantial modifications to it now.

It seems to vary a great deal among users because my load times tend to be 10 seconds or less.

My system:
i7 4790k
16GB RAM
GTX 1080 with Driver 391.35 (I have the newer driver but this one seems to work so I left it alone)
Samsung EVO SSD (M.2 SATA)
Windows 7
GOG Galaxy
Battletech version 1.0.2


I have manually cleared out my save files periodically which does seem to help with performance.

I've been playing on the original build till a few hours ago. I just updated to 1.0.2 and I do notice a medium-sized improvement in loads.
wasn't counting but I think 2 minutes is normal. I just use my 2nd computer to check news and stuff when I'm waiting.

well i'm on an SSD and i'm relieved that i'm not the only one with awful loading times

also, as a non-Galaxy user, i dont find any 1.02 patch so far on the manual downloads, so i guess i'm screwed for now
There's obviously some issues with performance, be it stuttering video, tons of pauses in gameplay, or insanely long load times for a game that really shouldn't have anything like it.

Chances are the game was rushed out and they knew these issues when it went live. But hopefully they can work on the performance issues and smooth things out.

I remember when MWO was released, a memory leak lead to FPS that started at 60, and in a minute or so into any game I'd be at 1-3 FPS, with the game eating 9GB of memory.
I have an nvme SSD card (these things are FAST), 16 gig fast ram and a very good cpu and the load times are abysmal. This was after a recent upgrade when my system was not as good (I thought it was my pc`s fault).

It`s unlikely to be your computers, the game is terribly unoptimised. Needs at least a couple of months of patches to fix I reckon.

Yeah. Easily a couple months before we'll see improvements. Chances are the game was rushed out to meet deadlines set randomly by some marketing person so they could see some return on investment despite how it might destroy the reputation, but I'm sure the devs are playing catch up now and trying to get things ironed out "in post".
I believe it to be UNITY related. I play Escape from Tarkov and load times are rough.
