Nice game but it *really* needs new single player content. Aside from the complete lack of any official single player DLC's, is there any at all community mods to add campaigns to this?

All the DLCs for this game enhance the single-player game. I assume you meant a lack of additional campaigns. Rather than providing additional campaigns, they provide Flashpoints, which are longer, scripted missions on multiple systems (but still not a full campaign). These are available in career mode, which is probably the best way to play, anyway.

I suppose you need the Flashpoint DLC to start with to enable them with the other DLCs as well as the ones available on Nexus. I don't know because I got it with the Season Pass and never tried without.
yeah, basically more campaigns. I use 'dlc' as a generic as it's more content. I have Flashpoint /Urban/HM it's just that really want MORE. It just seems very little that is out there to take advantage of a good engine.

Look up the Hyades Rim mod. It is still being worked upon, but is currently 100% playable and sounds like just what you want.

The game was built as a sandbox / mercenary campaign with a bit of "choose your own adventure" aspect to it. The in-game campaign wasn't meant to be the meat of the game, but just an intro.

I'm currently playing my fourth playthrough of the game in career mode. First two were in vanilla mode. Third was with the BattleTech Revised mod. Fourth and current one is with the BattleTech Advanced 3062 mod. Will eventually do the RogueTech mod, but it was a bit overwhelming when I tried it initially. Too much tech I didn't recognize / know how to use properly.

thanks will try that out. I'm much more into single player PC games since I'm always on the run or remote. online play just isn't in the cards.

As am I! The linked Hyades Rim mod is a massive single player campaign. And playing in career mode is totally single player as well.

The skirmish mode the game ships with is apparently a dead scene and I never even tried it anyway. Had zero appeal vs. being able to take a break in the middle of a game to go make coffee or whatever. :)

I play all my games with network disabled. So it's a good thing that career mode is 100% offline single-player. I'm not sure a full campaign is really necessary, though. I actually don't like some of the limitations placed on the game's built-in campaign. I can get a near perfect lance very early in career mode. Either way you'll be spending most of your time just running missions. The story just gets in the way of that, especially if it places other artificial limits on your gameplay.
Just as a follow-up to this conversation...

My mornings for the past six months have been decimated by playing BTA3062. On my third full career using that Mod and I'm still discovering new events / equipment / things.

And the modders behind it have just rebranded it BTAU (Battle Tech Alternate Universe) with a completely non-canon storyline that begins in 3061 rather than 3062. Still adds crazy stuff like Elementals (battle armor), VTOL, multiple lances, and vehicles.

Still haven't gotten around to trying RogueTech since BTA3062 / BTAU is so engrossing. Dammit.
