OMG these trainees are bad. 1 1/2 skull mission. I copuldn't keep them ALL alive. The guy in the Urban mech was the worst shot ever, didn't hit once with the auto cannon, not once. Then all he had left was the small laser. I can't remmember the other mechs but I lost one early even though he was in the forest. The other guy got disarmed but at least he did some dammage. I had to sprint him away from the fight.

The "bad asses" quotes are pretty awesome coming from the B team though.

And it's doubly awesome not having to foot the bill for the repairs in money or time during my new Heavy Metal career. Only part that sucks is only of my pilots getting any XP on these missions. XP in the early game is almost as valuable as C-bills and mech parts.
I thought it was a funny mission. It also seemed easier than normal 1.5 skull missions. I assumed Harebrained made it easier because they gave you 3 rookies.

Yes the Quotes were hilarious and doubly awesome not having to lose one of my warriors. I wonder if the guy that died was the one that said 'I don't wanna die'.
Hmm, I didn't mind the B team when they were fielding lights and I could add a medium to the mix to even up the battle. But now the B team is fielding all lights for 2, 2.5, and 3 skull missions. If I had an assault, I'd use it to even the battle. But with only mediums to my name, I can't field more than 1 skull and that's suicide for the B team and a withdrawal for me...

Bring a pilot with sensor lock to suck away all the evasion, jump the Urbies onto a hill and let the ACs open some holes, then fill them with your own crit-seeking missiles.

Yes, and it even helps aggroing the badies on you, sparing the newbz, as the opponents hate being locked.
