This is actual solution for people that have their GPU overheat during gameplay. And tip for HBS to add this option to the game because it fixes the problem almost completely.

Before i go into the details of the fix, my GPU is Nvidia GeForce GTX 970, the game easily runs 60fps ( or more if not VSync ) on ultra. The GPU load goes from 100% on ultra to 80% on low setting. And heat reaches 90C after very short time. This is not problem of GPU since I can run far more demanding games with far less GPU strain. And of course all my drivers are updated to most recent version.

That said, lets look at the fix.

It is very easy : Limit the game to 30fps

For this i am using: Riva Tuner

The game now runs at 50% GPU load on Ultra settings. Gameplay is perfect since 30fps is completely ok for tactical games. And Heat stays at comfortable 80C and under.


As for HBS developers.
I would recomend you adding option in game to reduce framerate to 30fps. I know you are looking into optimising the game and finding the reason for GPU strain, but this is easy to do fix that would help people in mean time ( without need to run third party software )

A work around is not a fix. It only promotes more crappy programming
