You are using direct download or gog downloader client, rather than Galaxy, right? If so, just download the current installer, and you should have the most recent version - no patching necessary.

As to your question about save games, you will keep them if you simply install over your existing install. If you do an uninstall first, it will ask you if you want to keep your save games, so make sure you answer correctly!

Yeah just make sure you say yes you would like to keep your save games when uninstalling the game if you're downloading the installer with the new version again.

I did the same thing last week and wanted my save games obviously. So just gotta do that.
