Hello,

i was able to play Battletech since day one with no bugs or crashes. Today there was a huge update. And now, after the update, the game crashes every time when I start it... Whats the point in fixing something that isn't broken? Now I can wait for new patches witch fixes the game. That sux...

Anybody with the same problem?

Both patches (1.0.1 and 1.0.2) say "Trial fix for some occasional crashes when loading back into the sim-game scene."

Btw, what version are you talking about? 1.0.1 or 1.0.2?

They still recognize crash problems and don't seem to exactly know were they need to touch. so they are testing trial fixes and publishing them to see if there's no more crashes for people.

I have read on Steam and Pdox that other people with crashes after update(s) had to "verify integrity" of the game. If you are using Galaxy, i think there's such an option on "Manage" your game. I am using the classic installers so i cannot test that. In other cases verifying not solved the problem because the saves were corrupted.

If you are using classic installers or want to be able to play after verifying files (and are still having crashes), you can unistall the whole game and install the first, release version.

Anyway, there are still a lot of reports of saves problems. I recommend you to manually save your game each time you exit from the sim-game (battle) back to your ship and use just that save, not any of the automatic saves the game creates. Make a backup of that save, go to next battle and repeat the process.

I had 0 problems with save corruption, starting/loading crashes, etc but i am not using their automated saves since the first day after reading what people was saying about the game's save system.

Oh, and i'm still using the release version (no patches for the classic installers, we actually just have the whole 12 gb to download again and just for the first 1.0.1 patch, which i'm downloading right now to test)

Hello,

the same with me. Game will not start anymore after the update... Feeling unhappy.
Hello,

I used the "repair" option of galaxy, download another ca. 650mb file and now everthing is working again. Thanks for the tipp and I hole it is helping!
never had so much trouble updating games on galaxy as this one does for some reason.

heres another update, its just hanging there, 337mb / 337mb - 0.0mbp/s - updating, applying 79.5% .......

as far as general game behavior not wanting to run proper, it almost always starts acting up on the screen /w the big skull mech face on it.

sits there forever then finally loads up ok.

Update hung there for me too, now waiting for ~20 minutes to get to 97.2%. Update speed is just abysmal for such a small file size.

Edit: Just completed after ~25 mins

It also created another desktop icon when it installed.

lol all is a bit strange around this game, it seems. Maybe all the difficulty to update and the problems after installing dinamic updates is why classic installers don't have a patch, yet, and we had to re-download the whole 12GB for the third time to get 1.02.

It's a relief for those of us who use classic installers that they are not releasing patches very quick. My backup folder in case the patches do something weird is now 36GB, i hope next time we can have a single patch but giving those problems updating...who knows.
