spellbender: straight up battle, "kill the lance, then kill the reinforcement lance."
killed all opposition, no enemies left alive, mmission won't emd. Generally occurs when reinforcment lance is very close to the primary enemy lance.
Could be one of your mods is doing this, as I said never had this in vanilla, even though I had Reinforcements not announced, reinforcements coming before or together with target ... when all were dead in Kill enemies missions the mossion ended. And so far I did 100s of such missions.
