Are we going to have an incremental patch from 1.7.1 to 1.8? Or do we have to download the whole game again?

It usually takes about a week till patches are made, tested and uploaded by GOG. Full Version is made faster as not much testing is needed and Galaxy Version is uploaded instantly by HBS. Its always the same with every game (that offers patches).

The only thing that matters is that there will be an incremental patch, I can wait. ;)

I cant say, if it comes, but possibility is very high. Usually what can speed things up is writing to support. I use this, when Steam gets updates fpr games and GOG hs to wait too long for my like ;)

In my experience, the incremental patches come out at the same time as the new installer. I believe that the installers go through the same testing (except one piece) as the patches.
