im getting this error on and off all the time. During missions the screen will freeze. The game is still playing in background
and it performs operations because I can here it. The music is fine. It is only this one game, all others are fine.
1.1 and 1.3 are problematic, patch 1.2 was fine for me. I have a1080ti and its getting very annoying.

Anybody else having this issue and have a possible cure.

The game ready driver that was available just after launch had some issues that the next driver fixed. It is buried deep in the documentation for the drivers. This might be the source of your issue.

I noticed that this game also seems sensitive to graphics power and frequency settings on some hardware. I had some issues with my EVGA FTW 980 that completely disappeared when I switched to an ASUS Strix 1080. That particular 980 was occasionally flaky with some games at some settings, which was apparently fixed by EVGA in later hardware. This issue was uncommon and only happened in a few games but demonstrated itself in the same manner as you describe or with a blank screen with sound when it happened.

New Nvidia drivers have been rather horrible lately.
Also on a 1080ti and I went all the way back to driver 391.24 after trying out the farcry 5 ready driver. Then the whole mess with getting stuck on endless reboots have made me just stay put on that driver.
No issues at all with Battletech and while a new driver might improve fps a bit I do just fine with 4k on a 60hz monitor as is.

The issue could of course be something else for you.
Maybe some other process put the game in background and soft crashes due to that.
While it sucks that we don't have a proper borderless full screen window mode you could check if the problem persist while playing in windowed mode.

Seems that battletech doesnt like me running 1440p on a 4k monitor.

Games terribly unoptimised. It clearly needs a few patches to clean it up, that`s for certain.

I've got this on Steam and I am experiencing the same issue, but I am running the game on an non-HD monitor at 1050 x 1680 with my GTX 660ti
