I tried to get to the download manually by typing out the address I expect the downloader to fetch the download from:

gogdownloader://battle_worlds_kronos/installer_win_en

That launched the downloader and it is downloading the game just fine so far.
So for anyone else who has the glitch, try that.
After all, checking my shelf, all games download buttons direct to links following that logic :)
(I feel really clever right now)

OK, I made the test. The worst problems have been corrected, but we're not there yet : There are still missing texts in the french version, replaced by their filenames. Not the objectives anymore (which is good), but bits of conversations with the npcs are missing.
Those are (irritating but) minor problems, though. The game can be played.
