Game launches fine, but run ats 6 FPS. Needless to say, that's too low to be playable.
Fiddling with compatibility settings didn't do anything.

I doubt it's a problem with hardware, I'm running a i7-7700k and a GTX 1080Ti. Modern games all run without issues.

Check software. Stuff like MSI Afterburner is known to cause similar issues.
