what is range difference between serpent musketmen without scopes/scopes off and with scopes on VS serpent canonier without cannon sight and with cannon sight? also does upgraded canonier have longer range on foot than other ranged units siting in towers
if canonier have longer range then they with musketman would fit perfectly for slow moving death zone/base trasher task force

Generally the higher you shoot from the longer the effective range will be. In Battle Realms you can't outmatch the range of towers by any of the foot soldiers no matter the upgrade. Of course this is only when the opponent cares about not putting a short ranged ranged-unit in the tower. You can still sit on the maximum range bombig towers with canoniers but they can't stay out of trouble if the tower targets them.

As for strategy it isn't wise to make homogene group of soldiers since it is easy to counter due to the damage type vs. armor system the game has. Your opponent can pack soldiers with high defense against blunt damage and have blunt type damage. Canoniers then become a little more than useless on the battlefield.

Sniper shoots farther than a musketeer (even on tower), sniper also shoots farther than a cannoneer (with range upgrade) unless the last one is on tower.

Musketeer deals explosive damage, Sniper (Musketeer with scope) deals piercing damage where as Cannoneer deals blunt damage and does more damage to buildings by default.

Cannoneer has a pretty long reach with the upgrade and is THE BEST PICKFOR TOWERS. Just because you can't put a sniper on the tower (which would be super OP).

Musketeers can also obtain Blast Shot Battle Gear, which, with all the upgrades, makes them full- time building demolishers.

I doesn't have to say anything. I said if you put short range units in the tower it will not have overhelming range, but no one would do that anyway. Everyone goes for the best coverage when using towers for defense. But I agree there are some serious unbalances between specific faction matchups.
