This game seems to be extremely finicky and fragile. Even after disabling my other monitor, the game continued to immediately crash on launch. No compatibility mode settings helped.
However, I was able to get it to launch eventually by disabling G-Sync in the nVidia Control Panel, and setting the refresh rate to exactly 60 Hz, so try that next if this happens to you.
