Hello guys,

I got since a few weeks the problem, that the game freezes exactly in the moment, when I try to open a game-lobby via direct IP or Network. I think it could be caused by the newest major Win10-Update, because since that update the problem showed up on three different PCs with Win10 as OS. Before it worked fine on all of them.

Starting a game with GameRanger is also not possible, because it leads to a similar freeze at the loading screen (while joining a game still works). I tried a clean re-install, but that did not help as well.

Has anyone here also noticed that problem recently or even got a solution for this?

The first bet always would be compatibility. Try running the game with WinXP compatibility settings and of course as administrator. If that not helps I have no better idea. The game works for us on Win7 flawlessly in multiplayer mode.

Seems like a firewall/internet settings issue, if you say that the problem is on all 3 PCs. It's best to ask on the wintech forums about the update changes concerning the connection stuff or look into it yourself, re-checking if anything has changed in your settings since the update.
First of all: Thank you for your replies!

@Pityesz Using the compatibility modes etc. was of course the first thing I tried to fix the problem. But that didn't help.

@BRJoker I don't think it is is a firewall- or internet-caused problem, because of the type of the error (a total freeze and not some kind of connection-error). Nevertheless I tried it now with two PCs connected with an ethernet-cable, but got still the same problem, as if I am using W-LAN for network play. I also checked the Firewall- and network-setttings, but there should not be any problem with that.
I also tried to run a network game on an old Asus EeePC with an older build of Win10 (maybe around 6 months, at that time it also worked on the other PCs) and it was possible to start a game. Besides: At that point I noticed, that trying to JOIN a game leads on the other PCs to the freeze-problem too.
So I think I will wait for the big Fall Update for Win10, which should drop in the next few days, and if that won't help I will maybe follow your advice and ask in the Wintech forums, if there were any changes during August/September for Windows 10, that could cause such a problem.

It may be a possible brute-force solution to install BR into a VirtualMachine with Win XP running. But I dont like that workaround...

It would help by the way, if anyone with an updated build of Win10 could shortly report, if he/she is able to run a network-match.
The newest update for Windows10 (1709) solved the problem!

Good to hear that. And yes I thought the compatibility is the most obvious try, I just want to go sure by mentioning it. :)
Hey, have the same problem, the patch didnt fix this for me, is there any other way with which it could work
