I have tried re-installing the package, and still get the following error message whenever I try to load Incubation (though the other games in the pack seem to work fine):

"Exception EInOutError in module launcher.exe at 00012F89. File access denied."

I've never had trouble with a GOG game before, and am running Windows 7. Any ideas?

Hmm... That's odd - I've not encountered this myself, though I'm also using Windows 7...

Did you install it to the default directory? The "Program Files (x86)" folder has some manner of restriction to writing files within it that could be what's causing you trouble - perhaps running the game in Administrator mode (right-clicking on the shortcut or Start menu option and finding "Run as administrator" in there) would help?

Just arrived here because I had the message has stopped working to both Incubation and the Wilderness missions playing on Vista. Using 'run as administrator' it seems to have jumped the hurdle you mentioned. Many thanks for posting!

Ah, this one's specifically for Windows 7 - there's another thread for the Windows 10 issues, but here's a quick summary of what you need to do:

1) Download this version of the "sound.dll" file and copy it into the Incubation folder, replacing the file of the same name that's already there.
2) Run the Settings program for Incubation and change the graphics to "3Dfx".

im on windows10 and have have the same problem. run as admin doesnt fik the issue.

Here it is a month later and I installed this game on a laptop with Windows 7 and it worked, first without sound, then mysteriously with sound, it runs fine now.

Windows 10 install, doesn't work :(
Tried sound.dll and launch as admin, still stumped. Any help would be appreciated :)
