Hi everyone,

I somehow can't get Incubation to work. In fact, I can't even start it under Windows 10 (Anniversary Update). When freshly installed, clicking the Incubation.exe doesn't seem to do anything. Tried my luck with replacing the sound.dll with a file from a different source and setting the graphics mode to 3dfx as advised on another site which at least gets me one step further as it would now bring up an error message, telling me that the file 'autorun.dat' is missing every time I attempt to load the game. :(
Already tried with Windows 95 compatibility mode - also to no avail.
Anyone ever heard of this and maybe able to help me out?

Thx in advance!

Autorun.dat? Sounds like it is running the autoplay from a CD, which you don't have. I do remember having seen something like this on the forums. IF I could only remember where.
It was something to do with how WIn10 handled certain things different.
But did you start it via launcher or EXE?
Or it might have to do with this:

Sorry that I can't help any further in the moment. You do know that Battle Isle is not supported on Win10, or?
Tried it with the .exe, completely disregarding the launcher. Double checked the directory contents after reading your post, started the launcher and well, what do you know! Works like a charm now, even in 3DFX mode (which looks kinda funny on a modern day widescreen) :D
Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction!

So long it works ;)
Enjoy!
I have the same issue, and the link is dead. Any ideas how to fix this on Win10?
Ok after some struggle it finallu runs.

What i had done, is to first swap the audio.dll / sound.dll although i do not know if it is important
(swap described on this forum, topic :/windows_10_cant_launch_the_game/post17 - i cannot post links)
than installed directX missing legacy component - download from microsoft page
and switched settings to 3dfx (run settnigs as an administrator!)

Cheers!
