I played BI2 back in the days and never had to play the other games. Looks like with Gog I have a solution to this issue :)

Yet I remember the turn of the AI in BI2 was sooooooooo long sometimes.

Is it the same with the Gog version ? Or is the full power of the "modern" computer used for the AI turn ?

it is aproximately the same i think. (not so easy to compare to 17 years old memories of playing it).
you can also just play Battle Isle 3 instead. it is very similar game (unlike the later BI games) and the AI turns are much faster there.
