I played the first DOS version that only supported EGA. The chessboard was blue and it used the PC speaker. The screenshots suggest this is the later version, but I ask you - is it the windows 3.11 release or was there a dos version that used the VGA golden board?
The 3.11 release is in a tiny window that I don't believe was resizable. On modern LCDs that would be torture. If it's dos it uses dosbox so it will be fullscreen.
I guess that is this one : http://www.mobygames.com/game/battle-chess-collection for it is the last and most complete of the Interplay catalogue... I will buy it for sure! :>

Yeah, I think this is the one that it will be. However, they said that it will not come with the "Battle Chess Enhanced CD-ROM" portion of it.

hey you guys,
this is not enhanced edition, due to legal rights - we simply don't have it
but hope you'll find it interesting after all :)

Does anyone own that version? I'd still really like to know if it's a dos or 16-bit windows app.
All our Battle Chess games are DOS versions.
