*** spoiler ***

Back in the days I bought the very first edition of Arkham Asylum (the Deluxe Edition that came with the oversized Batarang).
This is the first time I replayed the game in the GOTY version and ... they changed the scarecrow scene ..
The original was much more realistic.

This new version would never had make me believe that my graphic card was broken.
Shame ... you don't know what you are missing :)

They did? I did not see any difference. Maybe you are referring to the third one while just having played the first one? ;)

I remember what made me buy a new graphic card :) (or at least prepone the already planned buy)

I'll have to try and install (and run, that might be a problem) the disc version to be sure, but I remember not just seeing a bunch of colored lines back then.
I am quite sure that there were also "system failure" error messages.
I played the original Arkam Asylum on a 360 at the time. We all know the hardware issues those things had so when this happend it freaked me out.
I also bought that Batarang, because it was a few months after the game came out and the local GameStop was desperately trying to free up shelf space, so it was actually cheaper then the standard PC version.
I haven't played the GOG version yet, but I've re-played the Steam version a year ago (and played through it about 3 or 4 times in total over the years) which should be the same, and I didn't notice any changes in the scarecrow bit. What scene are you referring to, the "game reboot" scene?

After it happened, I clapped at my TV, Rocksteady had managed to make me freak out as well, since I never had any trouble with my 360 but knew it could happen anytime.

The bunch of colored lines was present in the X360 version.
I remember it quite well: I jumped up from my seat and quickly turned off my console.
Because the previous one died with exactly the same error before.
