I've put together a Wine wrapper for Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, allowing them to be played on Linux almost like a native game & with no Wine knowledge required. Wrappers for Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight are planned and will be released & added here when they are ready.

Simply run the build script to create the wrapper. If the installer files are not alongside the wrapper build files then the path to them will need to be specified either by passing it as an argument to the build script with -respath="<path>" or by setting an environment variable named WINEWRAP_RESPATH containing it. You can change the path to build the wrapper in and the name of the wrapper directory with the -buildpath= and -dirname= arguments. The build path can also be set with the WINEWRAP_BUILDPATH environment variable.

The output will be a directory containing the game set up within a preconfigured Wine prefix, along with its own copy of Wine, extracted game icons, documentation, and start script(s). From there simply run the start script to play. The start script also includes options for creating a shortcut, configuring the wrapper etc.

(to uninstall simply delete the game directory and any shortcuts you created, and the game's user data directory in ~/.local/share if you don't want to keep your saves & settings)

The start script for Batman: Arkham Asylum also includes an option to install the formerly PS3-exclusive DLC which can be downloaded from PCGamingWiki.

User data is stored under ~/.local/share/batman_arkham_asylum, ~/.local/share/batman_arkham_city

Full details are in the readme.txt and release notes. Here is the download link:

These wrappers use Wine 6.2 + DXVK. Wine and Winetricks will be downloaded automatically if not present; to avoid redownloading for other scripts the downloaded Proton package will be stored in ~/.cache/winewrap

If anyone encounters any problems then post in this thread, Adamhm's Linux Wine Wrappers - News, FAQ &amp; Discussion and/or The "Judas&trade; does this run in Wine" thread v1.173.

Anyone knows how the whole series works under current Wine now?
Nice discount offered for all 4 games, but not sure as ProtonDB reports give "Gold" status to most of them and some more or less serious technical issues...

Tried only Arkham Asylum for now. Using GameHub to install and start with compatibility layer set to Proton (latest).

So far everything works fine, including controller, except:
- Some error about .NET after first start, followed by missing buttons in the launcher. On the 2nd try everything was fine.
- Gamehub gets confused when the launcher starts the actual game and won't inhibit the screensaver. So when playing with a controller it tends to turn off the display exactly at the wrong moments ;-)
I've tried the first one with wine and dxvk on Arch Linux manually. No problems with mono, but I have the system package installed (for SubtitleEdit). The launcher needs to be started in its directory otherwise it fails completely and there are some mouse issues (mouse can hit edge of virtual desktop even in fullscreen mode) when virtual desktop mode is used, which I normally use since I've had games that crash on alt+tab otherwise.
Both Asylum and City run great for me in Wine - I've had very nice results with DXVK. I haven't yet tried the other two.
