As the subject suggests, I'm having trouble with Batman: Arkham Origins. Every time I run it, I get a black screen for a few seconds, then the error message "Batman: Arkham Origins has stopped working". The game simply won't start.

Things I've tried:
- Skipping the opening cutscenes
- Setting the game to run in DirectX 10 mode
- Setting the game to run in DirectX 9 mode
- Disabling Data Execution Prevention (which Windows tells me is impossible for this game)
- Disabling my second monitor
- Restarting my computer
- Reinstalling the game
- Updating my graphics card drivers

My computer meets the recommended specs, but still no dice.
Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
Core i7-7800X
32GB RAM
GeForce GTX 1080

If anyone can help, I'd be extremely grateful.

I know that this is a quite old post but I am curious if there is a solution on this.

I have bought this game last year and i haven’t installed it till now. For me the game will not start, but i will not get any error, the moment the first screen show in full screen it will just drop me back to Windows.

I have a support ticket for my issue but no solution yet. (I tried it in 3 different systems with different specs and all have the same issue) the version from another platform works just fine though that makes me believe there is something wrong with the specific one here.

t's been a while since I played this game, but I remember having to install DirectX End-User Runtime to get it to run.

Here is the link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

All this does is add some Direct X 9 runtime .dll files needed by older games and does not alter any other DX files or version. Whenever I set up a gaming PC I always add these. Just in case.....
Thanks for taking the time and replying! That is already installed in all my systems with no avail.

I guess I will need to wait for further actions/steps from GOG support, since this looks like an odd issue to be happening on 3 different systems with different hardware (from intel to AMD and Nvidia) and different Windows systems. Especially when the game works from another online platform.

I guess the only thing left for me to test is to try in linux environment.
