Hiya there!

I just finished playing Arkham Asylum, no problems with the game.
I've installed Arkham City and it crashes everytime on the same spot:

Spoilers ahead:
__________________________________________________________

In the beggining of the game, just after you climb the ACE Hotel, when you're getting the batsuit that Alfred sent.
Wayne puts it's hand on the palm reading thing, and then the game just crashes. The sound keeps on playing, but the screen doesn't move, and I have to restart my PC (if I open the task manager, I can Alt+tab to it, but the screen just remains on the game).

Anyone with the same issue? I'm on a Notebook, Intel i5, 16Gb Ram and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050.

Thanks!

Have you tried compatibility mode and/or running as administrator? The Arkham games are pretty old. Even Knight, which has been out for 5 years now. Just an FYI, they are also poorly optimized. My 4690 is constantly hitting 100% with Origins.

Admin mode should never be necessary, the game only stores files in your users directory.

But ... this might be the right track anyway.

Do you have any thread defense software running?

Since the game this moment updates the savegame (or creates one, I don't know when the first file is being written), this might be what causes the crash.

My antivirus software also locks my user directoy for unknown applications, I have to allow those manually to write into my user home dir.
It worked.
Yesterday, I made the post and went to sleep. Then, today, I went and tried, without doing anything different... and it just worked.
Go figure.

Thanks anyway! =)
