Please pardon me if this is a taboo question, but is there a trainer available that works for this game? I am frustrated with the Poison Ivy Boss Battle and just want to continue. I am just not that good at battles. I play for the story line.

Not sure what answer you're expecting here. I can see immediate results in Google for "Arkham Asylum cheat trainer" but you don't mention if you've tried any of the existing ones or not with the GOG release of the game.

The answer I was expecting (Ideally) was something like " Yes, I researched many trainers for this Game which is on GOG (Batman Arkham Asylum v1.1 GOG) and THIS (THESE) IS (ARE) THE ONE(S) THAT WORK:" followed by examples. Replies like "I don't know, you should try them all" are not helpful.

That's not the reply you were given at all.

You provided no information toward whether you've tried any of those that exist (which you can easily find on your own) and if they happened to work or not so other options could be provided to you if necessary.
