Hello, I'm a little confused about the LAN support of the game.

I use hamachi to play games over LAN with my friends and we see each other in the LAN section of the games.
But even if we are on the same network and ping each other successfully, we just can't see each other in the ONLINE list of Barely Racing. The list is always empty. We tried choosing Public, Private and LAN during room creation, still nothing on the online list.

Is there something specific we need to do in order to play the game over LAN? Is using GOG Galaxy required to play over LAN, for example?

Thanks

Hi, i tested this with local LAN only. I will try it out in day or two again, and let you know of the outcome. But it should be working fine. At least it worked when I tested it. If not, I will see if I can fix it and update the game.

Thank you for the response. I await your reply. If everything turns out it works fine on your end, please share your insights on what I may be doing wrong.

Hi, me again. Yeah, I re tested it on my setup and it worked fine for me, but not on the GOG version. As the GOG Unreal Engine plugin does not support LAN. It is my mistake for not testing this in details. I also noticed that, even Steam version provided issues in some setup. So I removed LAN as an option from the game description. I will notify the GOG to remove LAN option from the GOG store also.

I really apologize for this. It worked for me before, and I failed to test it in details recently and before the release. I focused my testings mostly on Online and campaign.

Generally I left LAN so that people who pirated the game can play it over Hamachi, and that it can be played in multiplayer in the future, in case GOG or Steam stop working. But I failed there. I will remove the option from the game in the next update.

In the meantime, please use GOG online subsystem.

The removal of LAN option means I doubt I will buy it. When I buy games that are multiplayer I go for LAN unless I am not buying the game for multiplayer. I only use Galaxy to download the games. Other than that I don't generally use it.
