There is information on the Internet that the game is 250 megabytes. On my computer the game is only 170 megabytes. I try to run the game on a 32 bit Linux system using Wine 1.6.2 but it does not work. Almost 90 percent of all MS Windows games from 2011-2014 that I have installed work for me. It seems that it is always 32 bit software. Banished brings a 64 bit and a 32 bit version. But the 32 bit version does not work for me.

In the backtrace.txt line 1 says...
Unhandled exception: unimplemented function dxgi.dll.CreateDXGIFactory1 called in 32-bit code (0x7bc4a9c9).

I do not know what this means. *?

If the developer or anyone else knows anything that will allow me to play Banished on my system please reply here.

Kind regards

According to the following forum post, you should upgrade wine to v1.7.13

Thank you for this information and the links. The problem is eliminated. In Wine 1.7 the DXGI problem was fixed.

The installer works fine!
The installer file is only 123 megabytes, after installation on my system Banished is 170 megabytes.

I am using MX-15 Debian Jessie 32 bit.
In the Jessie repo I found only Wine 1.6.2-20 and a development version of 1.7.29. Versions from 1.7 need ocl-icd-libopencl1. This had always put me off a bit. Newer versions of Wine offered for MX-15 do not work for me. The version 1.8.7 offered for Debian Stretch does not work either. Now I have installed Wine 1.8.1 together with ocl-icd-libopencl1 and can play Banished. Unfortunately I have the feeling that some other Wine games now work a bit worse, which is probably due to the use of ocl-icd-libopencl1. I will have to monitor this further. It is very easy for me to uninstall Wine. If I don't want to play Banished anymore, I could quickly and easily reinstall Wine 1.6.2.

Thanks again!
The problem is fixed.
I can play Banished.
